Blessing of Honey

On February 10, the Bulgarian Orthodox Church celebrates the feast of the Holy Hieromartyr Haralambos, who is also worshipped as patron of all beekeepers. Thousands of honey jars and burning candles are arranged in the form of the Holy Cross in the church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria. Honey is consecrated during the Divine Liturgy and it is believed it becomes magical and healing.
